Hutchinson Enterprises · owner-operators only
Hutchinson Enterprises is leasing on owner-operators based in North Dakota who run their own sleeper semi truck and their own trailer. Nationwide OTR under our MC, 90% of gross, statements every Thursday, fuel cards available.
The Bakken oilfield around Williston and Minot drives flatbed and specialized freight in pipe, sand, tanks and rig equipment. Wheat, canola, sunflowers and sugar beets from the Red River Valley move by hopper and dry van, while Fargo distribution centers pull inbound retail loads down I-94 from the Twin Cities. Owner-operators should expect hard winters and plan reloads out of Fargo or Minneapolis rather than the oil patch.

Hutchinson Enterprises leases on owner-operators who call North Dakota home and run OTR nationwide. Our dispatch desk knows the Fargo, Bismarck, Bakken oil fields freight hubs and the I-29, I-94 corridors, so an owner-operator based in North Dakota leaves loaded and gets routed back home loaded instead of deadheading.
The pay model is one number: 90% of the load's gross revenue. Typical weekly gross for our owner-operators is $7,000–$14,000, which puts the 90% share at $6,300–$12,600 before deductions. The rate is on the load confirmation before you accept, and your statement every Thursday lists the gross, your share and every deduction line by line. There is no per-mile schedule and no fee added after the fact.
Hutchinson Enterprises keeps 10% of the gross. The weekly premium for our liability insurance, set by the insurer for each owner-operator, is deducted from the statement every week, whether you are running, at home or in the shop; fuel is charged only when you fuel on our cards; plates, IFTA, tolls and ELD can be fronted and deducted. A $2,500 escrow builds at $250 a week and is refunded 30 days after you leave, provided there are no open claims or fines and company equipment is returned in good condition.
To lease on you need a valid CDL-A, at least 2 years of verifiable OTR experience, a clean MVR with no serious violations, a Class 8 sleeper semi truck that passes DOT inspection, and your own road-ready trailer of any type. We do not hire company drivers and we do not offer lease-purchase.
