90% of gross
You see the load rate, we keep 10%, you keep 90%. No per-mile math, no hidden broker cut on top.
Owner-operators only · sleeper truck + your own trailer
Hutchinson Enterprises leases on owner-operators who run their own sleeper semi truck with their own trailer. Run OTR under our MC authority, use our dispatch, fuel cards and back office, and keep 90% of every load's gross.
Example: on a $10,000 gross week, 90% is $9,000 before your expenses. Statements every Thursday.
*Hutchinson Enterprises keeps 10% of the load's gross. The weekly premium for our liability insurance is deducted from the owner-operator; fuel is charged only when you fuel on our card. Example figures are arithmetic, not a promise of income.

Why owner-operators lease on with us
You see the load rate, we keep 10%, you keep 90%. No per-mile math, no hidden broker cut on top.
Dry van, reefer, flatbed, step deck, Conestoga, RGN, tanker, car hauler. If you own it and it passes DOT, we can load it.
A weekly itemized statement every Thursday: gross, your share, and every deduction listed line by line.
Fuel on our card and the fuel is charged on your weekly statement instead of sitting on your own credit. Fuel elsewhere and nothing is charged.
Our 10%, the weekly premium for our liability insurance (every week, whether you run or sit), fuel if you used our card, and $250/week into escrow. Plates, IFTA, tolls and ELD can be fronted and deducted. Nothing else.
No authority to maintain, no compliance desk to staff. You run under Hutchinson Enterprises' MC and we handle the paperwork.
Pay model
You see the rate on every load confirmation before you accept it. Hutchinson Enterprises keeps 10% of the gross; 90% is yours. Typical weekly gross for our owner-operators runs $7,000–$14,000, so your 90% is $6,300–$12,600 before deductions. What comes out of your statement: the weekly premium for our liability insurance (set by the insurer for you personally and charged every week, whether you are running, at home or in the shop), fuel only if you fueled on our card, and $250 a week into escrow until it reaches $2,500. Plates, IFTA, tolls and ELD can be fronted and deducted. Every line is itemized. The escrow comes back 30 days after you leave, provided there are no open broker claims or fines and our equipment is returned in good condition.
On a $10,000 gross week that is $9,000 before insurance, fuel and escrow. Rates vary with lanes, season and equipment.

All terms, conditions, and compensation are confirmed in a written lease agreement between the owner-operator and Hutchinson Enterprises LLC.
Fuel is charged at cost only when you fuel on our card. Plates, IFTA, tolls and ELD appear only if we fronted them. Arithmetic on your inputs, not a promise of income.
Equipment we lease on
We do not rent trailers and we do not hire company drivers. This is strictly for owner-operators with their own complete rig.
Freightliner Cascadia, Kenworth T680 / W900, Peterbilt 579 / 389, Volvo VNL, International LT, Mack Anthem, Western Star. Raised roof, mid roof or flat top. Day cabs do not qualify — this is OTR.
Apply with this equipmentDry van, reefer, flatbed, step deck, Conestoga, RGN / lowboy, double drop, tanker, hopper, car hauler. Tell us what you pull and dispatch builds your lanes around it.
How it works
Two minutes: your contact details, your truck (make, model, year, sleeper) and your trailer type. That is all we need to start.
The full lease-on terms land in your email the moment you apply. Read them, and if they work for you, just reply to that email.
Your reply triggers the questionnaire automatically. Send it back with your documents and a manager calls you to set up the lease, plates, insurance and ELD.
Dispatch loads you the same week. Your first itemized statement arrives the following Thursday.
Owner-operator requirements
We keep the bar high because our shippers and our insurance do. If you meet it, onboarding takes days, not weeks.
Why owner-operators switch
Owner-operator reviews
Composite reviews based on real owner-operator stories. Individual results vary with lanes, season, equipment and performance.
Ran under two other carriers before this. Both advertised a big percentage and both found fees to add after the fact. Here it is 10% to the carrier, period: the rate is on the confirmation before I roll, and the Thursday statement matches it. I pull my own 53' van and they have never once tried to push a rental trailer on me.
Reefer out of the Central Valley and they know the lanes. Produce going east, meat and frozen coming back, so I am not deadheading home. The fuel card was the thing that sold me. I was floating $2,000 a week in fuel on my own card with the last outfit.
Flatbed guy, 2019 Cascadia with a 48' Fontaine. They fronted plates and the ELD so I did not have to write a check to start, and every deduction is on the settlement where I can see it. Escrow builds slow enough that you do not feel it.
Step deck, mostly machinery and building materials. No dedicated lanes but I have not sat more than a day since I signed on, and dispatch answers at 2 a.m. when a receiver moves my appointment. That alone is worth the switch.
Frequently asked questions
No. Hutchinson Enterprises works only with owner-operators who own both a sleeper semi truck and a trailer. We do not provide trucks, we do not rent trailers, and we do not offer lease-purchase.
The load's gross revenue is what the shipper or broker pays for the load. Hutchinson Enterprises keeps 10%; you keep 90%. On a $10,000 gross week that is $9,000. The weekly liability premium, fuel bought on our card, and the weekly escrow contribution come out of your share, itemized on the statement.
We add you to our commercial liability policy under our MC. The insurer sets your weekly premium, we pay it to the insurer and deduct the same amount from your statement every week, whether you are running, at home or in the shop. Physical damage coverage for your truck and trailer is your own policy. Fuel is charged only when you fuel on our card. Plates, IFTA, tolls and ELD can be fronted by Hutchinson Enterprises and deducted. Every deduction is listed line by line.
A $2,500 escrow is built gradually at $250 per week until the full amount is reached. It is refunded 30 days after you leave if there are no fines or broker claims and company equipment is returned in good condition.
Yes. We issue fuel cards to leased-on owner-operators. Fuel bought on the card is charged on your weekly statement; if you fuel elsewhere, nothing is charged.
Any type you own and keep road-ready: dry van, reefer, flatbed, step deck, Conestoga, RGN / lowboy, double drop, tanker, hopper, car hauler. Dispatch builds your lanes around the trailer you pull.
Yes. This is a nationwide OTR position and a day cab does not work for it. Raised roof, mid roof or flat top sleepers all qualify.
You run under Hutchinson Enterprises LLC's MC authority. That means we carry the operating authority and handle the compliance side, and you keep your equipment and your independence.
Every Thursday. Each weekly statement is itemized: gross per load, your share, and every deduction.
No dedicated lanes, but steady freight. Dispatch runs 24/7 and works your preferred regions and home time into the plan.
Most owner-operators go from application to first dispatched load within a week. Apply, read the terms that arrive by email, reply, fill out the questionnaire, and a manager takes it from there: lease paperwork, insurance and plates under our MC, ELD, DOT inspection, and you roll.
No. There is no application fee, and the full lease-on terms are on this site and arrive by email as soon as you apply.
